In the name of god, amen, I, Peter Kern, of Rockhill Township, in the county of Bucks, State of Pennsylvania, Joiner, being of weak body but of sound mind, memory and understanding (blessed be God for the same) bid conveying the understanding of this transition of life do make and publish this my last will and testament, in (illegible) and form as following to wit. (?) and first of all, I command my immortal soul into the hands of God, who gave it and my body to the Earth, to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner, at the discussion of my executors hereinafter named, and as to such worldly estate bequeath it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, after the payment of all my just debts funeral expenses, and the charges of proving this my will, I give and dissolve of the same in the following manner, to wit. I give and bequeath all my estate of what kind or nature order the same maybe, in the county of Bucks aforesaid or elsewhere unto my Sons Frederick Peter and John and my daughters Margaret, the wife of George Resend, Elizabeth the wife of John Regale, Catherine the wife John Selner, Susanna the wife of Frederick Farina, Madeleine the wife of John Gears and Hannah wife of Abraham Heady or the survivor or survivors among them except for Catherine the interest thereof half yearly be during her natural life now and for her own sole & separate use and benefit or such person or persons as the writing signed by her proper hand shall from this to time not withstanding her present or future covenant, direct, and appoint and my will is that her present husband shall not inter meddle therewith, neither shall the sum be subject or likable to his costive debts of engagements and of the interest of my said daughter Catherine share of my estate should prove insufficient for her support, then in that case my will is that said executors may and shall pay her annually out of the principal which sum or sums as they in their discretion may think appropriate need say and the receipt of my said daughter Catherine signed either her proper hand shall be a good and sufficient discharged for so much as shall be therein acknowledged or signed to be received. And as touching the residue of my said daughter Catherine share of my estate that may remain in my Executors hand and after her usage, I give and bequeath the same unto my said daughter Catherine'’ children or the survivor or survivors of them and the heirs of such survivor or survivors, equally to be divided between them. And lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my sons Frederick and Peter Kern to be the executors of this my will and hereby revoking all other will, legacies and bequests by me heretofore make and declare this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereinto set hand and seal this the twentieth day of July anno domino 1816. PETER KERN – Peter Kern

Signed sealed published pronounced and declared for the said testator as his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request have subscribed as witnesses Jacob Hartman Michael Lutz –Jacob Hartman and Michael Lutz.

I witness the named Peter Kern of Rockhill township in the county of Bucks and State of Pennsylvania do this tenth day in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen make and publish this codirect to my last will and testament in the manner following (that is to say) whereas in and by my last will and testament I have directed my executor therein named to place out at interest upon security my daughter Catherine the wife of John Selner share of my estate which I have given and bequeathed to her, for her own sole and separate use, and benefit and that he present husband should not intermeddle therewithin, neither should the same be subject or liable to his control. I do hereby order and declare theta my will is that my daughter Catherine intermarried with John Selner, shall receiver hold and enjoy an equal share of my estate with each of my other children and that the same shall be subject of liable to her said husbands control, debts or engagements It is my desire that this my previous codict will be amended to be made a fact of my last will and testament. To all interests and parties. In witness whereof I have hereinto set my hand and seal the day and year above written signed sealed published and declared by the above named Peter Kern as a codict to be amended to his last will and testament in the presence of us [see the validation on previous page] Bucks county SS: On the 25th of July 1820 Jacob Hartman & Michael Lutz the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing testor appeared before me and on their solemn affirmations do declare and say that they were present and saw Peter Kern the Testator sign seal publish and declare the foregoing writing, date the 29th of July 1816 and the writing dated the 10th of June 1818 both on this sheet of paper as & for his last will and testament & that at the time of his so doing he was of sound min and memory and of purpose understanding to the best of their judgment and belief.

Bucks County SS: Be it remembered that on the 25th of July 1820 the foregoing last will and testament with codict thereonto of Peter Kern was duly proved when letters testamentary were granted thereon unto Frederick Kern and Peter Kern the executors therein named they having first been duly affirmed well and truly to administer the goods chattels rights and credits which were of the deceased to good order within one month from this date a true expensatory and conversion able approvement thereof and within one year or when lawfully thereunto required taken in a just account of their whole administration witnessing hand and seal of John Pugh, Reg.
