The Associators

  • Bucks County Associators by township
  • Non-Associators, those who would not support the military charters.  They were not affiliated with "associators".  Sometimes they paid a fine, suffer retaliation or had a gang affiliation taking advantage of the war.
    • The arms of non-associators were collected to prevent them being used against the Americans, the militia were ordered to reinforce Washington, and the owners of cattle were directed to be ready to remove them at least five miles from the river.
    • Quakers would also be considered non-associators, because of religious beliefs, but not traitors.
