Samuel VanArtsdalen died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at his home in Gardners, Pa. He was 88.

He was born in Doylestown on April 27, 1923 to the late William and Sara Rich VanArtsdalen, he married the late Susan Louise Butler, who passed away 2000.

Raymond Ewald VanArtsdalen, a florist in Hulmeville for 40 years prior to his retirement in June, died Thursday at his home 265 West 27th St., Ship Bottom, N.J. after a long illness. He was 59 years of age. He was the husband of Selena M. Van Artsdalen (nee Gant).

Born in Bensalem Township, Mr. VanArtsdalen was the son of the late Edward T. and Annie Lyle Reetz VanArtsdalen.

He was an army veteran of World War II, a member of the Neshamony Methodist Church, Hulmeville, Bridtol Lodge no. 25 F & A M, trenton Foret Lodge no. 4, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Trenton, N.J., the Lehigh Valley Consistory, Allentown, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge no. 1101, Willow Grove, the Jesse W. Soby Post 148 American Legion, Langhorne, the William Penn Fire Company of Hulmeville and the Kiwanis Club of Lincoln Highway, Langhorne.

Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Anne Vail and two grandchildren, all of Ship Bottom, NJ, interment Beverly National Cemetery Beverly NJ.
