  Anthony and Margaret (Simpson) Torbert, born March 27, 1802, was a civil engineer. He married January 9, 1836, Mary Ellen Coryell, daughter of Lewis and Mary Coryell, of New Hope, Bucks county, Pennsylvania, and went to Harrison county, Ohio, where he died February 25, 1838. His widow returned to Bucks county with her infant daughter and later married Dr. Samuel Lilly, of Lambertville, New Jersey, by whom she had one son, John Lilly, living in Lambertville. She was born at New Hope, December 4, 1817, and died at Lambertville,

August 4, 1867.
