Founded 1844, Grace Protestant Episcopal church was established as a mission by Reverend

J.W. Ridgeley, of Bristol. Among the most active of its original members were William

Johnson, George Harrison, Esther Rodman, G.W. Rue, and Elizabeth Gill. The Methodist

Episcopal church edifice was built in 1844. Battle's History of BC (1887), page 453
