Oscar S. LONG
Oscar S. LONG, 72, of Earlington, died yesterday while operating a garden
tractor adjacent to his home.
Death was attributed to a heart attack.
He was the husband of the late Mathilda S. (KODER) LONG.
He was a native of Springtown, Bucks County, and lived in the Earlington-Souderton
area over 50 years.
Prior to his retirement seven years ago, he was an elected supervisor for
Franconia Township.
He was a member of Little Zion Lutheran Church, where he was a sexton.
He is survived by three foster children, Mrs. Harold ROSENBERGER of Earlington,
Mrs. Stanley KNECHEL of Harleysville, and Charles L. KODER of Franconia;
two sisters, Mrs. Mary OBERHOLTZER of Quakertown, and Mrs. Emma CRIST of
Summit Lawn; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Little Zion Lutheran Church,
Earlington. Viewing will be 7-9 p.m. tomorrow in the Robert W. Moyer Funeral
Home, 228 N. Main St., Souderton. Friends may also call at the church from
1 p.m. Saturday to the time of service.
