William P. Newbold
William P. Newbold, husband of Mary Elizabeth Newbold, died suddenly at his home 240 W. Maple Avenue, Langhorne early Wednesday morning, from a heart attack. He was in his 69th year.
Mr. Newbold was a Director of the Poor of Bucks County, serving his second term, and was past master of Middletown Grange. He was one of the best known residents of this community and his many friends were shocked to hear of his sudden death.
Mr. Newbold was most active in affairs of the relief organization in hi8s district and had charged of the work in Lower Bucks County. For 16 years he held the office of road supervisor in Middletown Township, and during 14 of those years acted as Township treasurer. He had also served for many years as treasurer of the Mutual Beneficial Fire Insurance Assn. and was director of the Langhorne Building and Loan Association, No. 2, for a long period.
A native of Middletown Township. Mr. Newbold was engaged in farming most of his life.
The deceased is survived by his wife, Mary Harding Newbold, 3 children. Florence, wife of Herman Heston of Newtown Township: Russell Newbold of Middletown Township and Herbert Newbold of Frankford.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, the 27th, at 2:30 p.m. at his late home with burial in Middletown Friends Burying Grounds under direction of Stacy B. Brown.
