Death of Samuel K. Riegel

Died suddenly of apoplexy at his residence in Hellertown on March 14, 1880, age 67 yrs. About 20 years ago Mr. Riegel became widely known as the popular landlord of Hellertown Hotel. He was the youngest among his brother and sisters, the late Jacob and Joseph Riegel, both lately deceased, and those still surviving, Wm. Riegel of Hellertown, Josiah Riegel of Philadelphia and Mrs. Charles B. Daniel, of Bethlehem and Mrs. Asher D. Shimer of Hanover township. Deceased leaves a widow but no children.

S. Alverta RIEGEL

S. Alverta Riegel, 94, of Perkasie and formerly of Ninth Street, Quakertown, died Monday October 30, 2000, in the Belle Haven Nursing Home, Quakertown.

She was the widow of the late William H. Riegel Sr., who died in 1977. Born in Bedminster Township, she was a daughter of the late Norman S. and Sallie May (Hockman) Snyder.

Mrs. Riegel had been employed by the Belle Haven Nursing Home 14 years until retiring in 1991.

She is survived by two daughters. She was preceded in death by a son, William H. Riegel Jr., in 1994.

M. Richard Riegel

63, of Quakertown, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001 at St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital, Quakertown.

Funeral services were held Aug. 14.

He was the husband of Audrey J. (Souder) Riegel. They were married 39 years.

Born in Doylestown, he was the son of the late Wilmer W. and Elsie (Hager) Riegel.
