I Isaac Hogeland of Southampton townshp in the County of Bucks and State of Pennsylania being of sound mind memory and understanding do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say. Imprimus. I order and direct my executors herein after named to pay all my just debts funeral and other expenses as soon as can be done after my decease and I also direct any wearing apparel to be equally divided between my male children hiers?. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Phebe Hogeland the sum of two thousand dollars($2,000) absolutely and the use of such of my household goods and kitchen furniture as she wishes during her natural life and at her death I direct the said goods to be equally divided between all my children or their heirs share and share alike and it is further my will that my said wife shall have the use of the house she now lives in the garden lot in front and as much of the lot and fruit off the lot back of the house as she wishes and also a part of the wood house. Vault washhouse, water use of the pump and of the lanes, room for a carriage if wanted together with all the nessessary rights and privileges to enable her fully to enjoy the same if she wishes to during her natural life and at her death the same to cease. Item. I give devise and bequeath to my son William S Hogeland and to his heirs and assigns the farm and plantations on which I now reside situated in the said township of Southampton adjoining lands of Abram S. Rhoads James Vanartsdalen and others containing about three-one hundred acres of of land be the same more or less together with all the buildings and appertenances belonging thereto which I value at the sum of twenty one thousand five hundred dollars subject nevertheless to the payment of one hundred dollars yearly to his mother during her natural life in semi annual payments in case she continues to reside where she now does but in cae she wishes to move away and to reside elsewhere then it is my will that he pay her two hundred dollars yearly in semi annual payments during life as aforesaid and at her death the same to cease and also subject to the payment of four thousand dollars to my Executors hereinto fore named as the survivor of them into the general fund of any estate. Inturn I give devise and bequeath unto my daughter Juliann (wife of Charles Tillyer) seventeen thousand five hundred dollars to her her heirs and assigns forever subject never theless to the payment of two hundred dollars yearly to her mother Phebe Hogeland in semi annual payments during her natural life and at her death to cease. Item. I give and devise to my son Alfred Hogeland as follows . I direct my Executor hereinafter named as the survivor of them to pay over to my son in law Alfred Johnson and my daughter Harriet his wife eight thousand five hundred dollars to be by them or the survivor of them held in trust for my said son Alfred subject to the paymentof one hundred and fifty dollars of the yearsly income thereof every year to his mother the said Phebe Hogeland during her natural life and the ballance of the yearly income of said sum to be paid to him every year in semi annual payments during his natural life and in case that is not sufficient for his mantainance and support there it is my will that they or the survivor of them pay him so much of the principal of said sum of eight thousand five hundred dollars as may be necessary for said purpose and should the said Alfred Hogeland die without bearing issue then the said sum or so much of it as remains unexpended to be equally divided between his brothers and sistes or their heirs but should be leave issue then the same to be equally divided between them. Item. I give and devise to my grand children the children of my deceased son Abraham E Hogeland seventeen thousand five hundred dollars on the following specified conditions to wit. Five hundred dollars part thereof to my grandson Edwin K. Hogeland and the ballanse of said sum aftertaking out what their father owes me on Bond note book account and for the other expenses wich I have paid and charged him with to be equally divided between all my said grand children the children of my said deceased son Abraham E shar and share alike, each grand childs share of said ballance to be subject o an equal share of the payment of one hundred and fifty dollars yearly and every year to their mother in semi annual payments and also subject ot the payment of one hundred and fifty dollars yearly to their grand mother the said Phebe Hogeland during her natural life in semi annual payments and at their deaths the same to cease. Item. I give devise and bequeath to my daughter Harriet Johnson wife of Alfred John and to her heirs and assigns forever the farm and plantation on which she does now or did lately reside with all the buildings and other improvements there erected and all the appertenances belonging thereto situated in said township of Southampton it being the same premises which I bought of the heirs of Edmund Plumly dea?? containing ninety seven acres and a greater of land be the same more or less and which is now called the "Lead Mine Farm" which I value at the sum of Eighteen thousand dollars clear of the dower interest of the Plumly is the same which dower if not said before my death. I direct the same to be said by any executors or the survivor of them out of my other estate subject nevertheless to the payment of five hundred dollars to my executors hereinafter named into the general fund of my estate and also subjedct to the payment of two hundred dollars yearly to her Mother the said Phebe Hogeland in semi annual payments during her natural life and at her death the same to cease, all the residue and remainder of my estate both real and personal of every nature and kind not herein before disposed of ? order and direct my Executors or the survivor of them to sell other at Public or Private sale for the best price that can be obtained for the same hereby giving and granting unto my said Executors or the survivor of them full and ample power to sell and convey the same to the purchaser or purchases there or in fee simple the same as I could do if personally present and the money arising from such sale or sales together with all the ballance and residue of my estate of every nature and kind I give and devise as follows. To my son William S. Hogeland ?? give one fifth part there of to him his heirs and assigned to my daughter Juliann Tillyer I give one fifth part thereof to her her heirs and assigns. To my son Alfred Hogeland I give one fifth part thereof to him his heirs and assigns. The the children of my deceased son Abraham E. Hogeland I give one fifth part thereof to be divided equally between the or their heirs share and share alike. To my daughter Harriet Johnson I give the other one fifth part thereof to her her heirs and assigns forever. And it is further my will that should my estate at settlement fall short by reason of losses or otherwise then in that case I direct the shares or legacies herein devised to my sons Williams S. and Alfred and my daughters Juliann Tillyer and Harriet Johnson afore aid and the share devised to my grand children aforesaid shall each abate accordingly. Lastly I nominate constitue and appoint my son William S Hogeland and my sons in law Charles Tillyer and Alfred Johnson to be the executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and annulling all former wills by me made at any previous time. In witness whereof the said Isaac Hogeland the testator above and before named have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal this First day of November A.D. one thousand eight hundred and seventy. On the Thirtieth day of September A.D. 1874 personally appeared before me Jesse H. Atkinson Register of wills; is and for the County of Bucks Isaiah Delany and Charles R. Vansant the subscribing, witnesses to the annexed instrument of writing purfrorting to be the last will and testament of Isaac Hogeland deceased, and being first duly sworn according to law did depose and say that they were present and saw and heard Isaac Hogeland the testator signs and seal publish pronounce and declare the annexed paper writing as and for his last will and testament and that at the time of his so doing ?? of sound mind and memory and of disposing understanding to the best of sound mind and memory and of disposing understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief. Hogeland. Charles Tillyer and Alfred Johnson the executors therein named they having been duly sworn will and truly to Administor the goods and chattles, rights and credits of the said deceased according to law and also diligently and faithfully to regard and well and truly comply with the provisions of the law relating to collateral inheritance.
