Celebrates 90th Birthday

Mrs. Calvin Hogeland, Newtown was the guest of honor at a surprise party tendered her on Wednesday evening, August 12, by eighty six relatives and friends, on the occation of her 90th birthday anniversary. Returning from spending the day at the home of her nephew, Alfred Krewson near Newtown, Mrs. Hogeland was completely surprised by the assembled guests.

The party held at the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary C. Willetts at 255 S. Chancellor street, where Mrs. Hogeland has spent much of the last three or four years, was planned by Mrs. Willetts, herself 85 years of age, and Mrs. Hogeland's daughter, Mrs. Nettie Price of churchville. they were assisted by Mrs. Willett's granddaughter, Mrs. John Firzpatrick of Fox chase Manor; and her niece, Miss Lillie Gibson of Churchville.

Mrs. Hogeland was born in Northampton Township, lived many years in Philadelphia, and more recently in Fallsington and Newtown. She is an active little woman and is keenly interested in all that is going on.

Four generations of her family were present at the party. Guests were from Newtown, Fallsington, Churchville, Fox Chase Manor, Philadelphia, Langhorne, Penns Park, Wrightstown and Somerton.
