Page (169)-Whereas John Vanhorn of the Township of Southampton County of Bucks and State of Pennsylvania son of Isaac Vanhorn and wife of the same place and Sarah Martindale daughter of Thomas  Martindale and Mary his wife of Wrightstown Township in the County and State aforesaid and having declared there intention of Marriage with each other before a monthly meeting of the society of friends held at Wrightstown in the county aforesaid according to good order used among them and having consent of Parents, their said proposal of marriage was allowed by the said meeting.  Now these are to certify ?? it may concern, that for the full accomplishment of their said intentions this twentieth day of the ninth month in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen, they witnessed John VanHorn and Sarah Martindale appeared in a public meeting of the said people held at Wrightstown aforesaid and the said John Vanhorn taking the said Sarah Martindale by the hand did on that Solemn occasion openly declare that he took her the said Sarah Martindale to be his wife promising with Devine acceptance to be unto her loving and faithful husband until death should separate them and this ? the same assembly the said Sarah Martindale did in like manner declare that she took him the said John Vanhorn to be her husband promising with Devine acceptance to be  unto him a loving and faithful wife until death should separate them.  And moreover they said John Vanhorn and Sarah Martindale she according to the custom of marriage of assuming the name for her husband and as a further confirmation there of them and thereto wife present let their hands and
We whose names are here unto subscribed being presented the solemnization of said marriage and subscription have as witnesses set or hands the day and year above written
